[5MLR] was created after a split from a large Squad community. We wanted a place that was Arma focused, console friendly, and ran by a group of individuals who are gamers first. [5MLR] is run by a council that is comprised of active duty military, veteran first responders, and members from across North America. Why 5th MLR? Before the split, our group was already a USMC themed unit. We decided to continue that heritage in our rebrand. We have elected to call ourselves the 5th Marine Littoral Regiment. Marine Littoral Regiments, are part of the larger force design intended to remedy challenges created by the evolution of modern warfare. MLR's are a self-deployable, multi-domain force optimized for the littoral zones. Why a unit that doesn't really exist? We chose create a fictional unit based off of the new MLRs, so that we could forge an identity for ourselves in the larger Arma mil-sim community. 5th MLR Fictional Origins The 5th Marine Littoral Regiment (5th MLR) is a fictional United States Marine Corps formation headquartered at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Established in 2028 as part of the Marine Corps’ Force Design modernization, it serves as the East Coast counterpart to the Pacific-based Marine Littoral Regiments. Unlike its Pacific counterparts, the 5th MLR is focused on expeditionary operations throughout the Atlantic, Caribbean, Arctic approaches, and European littorals. 5th MLR Mission The 5th MLR conducts distributed maritime operations in contested coastal environments to support Fleet commanders by: • Establishing temporary expeditionary bases • Controlling key maritime terrain • Providing long-range reconnaissance • Employing anti-ship fires • Supporting naval strike groups • Denying enemy freedom of maneuver Its Marines are trained to move frequently, remain difficult to detect, and fight in small, autonomous formations. 5th MLR Nickname The Atlantic Raiders
